About Desucon

Desucon is a Finnish convention for the fans of Japanese animation and comics. First organised in June 2009, the soon-to-be annual Desucon has doubled its programme for 2010! Events featured include lectures, cosplay, maid café, artists' alley, dealers' room, game corner and video screenings.

The guests of honour for Desucon 2009 were the distinguished voice actor Tōru Furuya; lecturer of film studies at Hanazono University, Ryūsuke Imai; and director Kiyokazu Fujimoto of Pyrotechnist Co., Ltd., management company for the renowned manga artist group, CLAMP. Desucon 2009 achieved 1,643 visitors.

Desucon 2010

Desucon 2010 will be held in the award-winning congress centre Sibelius Hall located in the city centre of Lahti. Due to the increased number of available lecture halls and extension of night-time programme, we can offer twice the amount of activities of Desucon 2009. Expected number of visitors for Desucon 2010 is about 2,500.

The guest of honour for Desucon 2010 will be the Queen of Akihabara, seiyuu and musician Haruko "Halko" Momoi. In addition to focus panels and autograph sessions she will have a concert on Saturday at 6pm. Concert tickets are sold separately.
